A Couple intensive is a one-time therapy session that is a minimum of 6 hours and up to a maximum of 12 hours over the course of a couple days. It is designed to meet specific goals for the couple, create breakthrough and movement for people who are stuck. It can be done in conjunction with a couple's existing therapy work with another EFT therapist or on its own. Think of it as surgery rather than weekly therapy. A couple intensive can include a focus on trauma using Brainspotting along with Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy. If you are a couple or a therapist working with a couple that would like to explore the possibilities of a couple intensive, contact Dr. Maxwell to learn more.
